Part 1 - Introduction and Interview

Question 1: Are the transport facilities to your home good?

Sample Answer: Yes, I’d say they’re pretty good. There are buses that stop nearby, and the roads are in good condition. I can also use ride-hailing apps easily if I need to go somewhere quickly. The traffic can get busy at times, but overall, transportation is quite convenient.

Question 2: Please describe the room you live in.

Sample Answer: My room is not very big, but it’s comfortable and tidy. I have a bed, a desk for studying, and a small bookshelf. There’s a window that lets in a lot of natural light, which I really like. I also decorated it with a few plants and pictures. It feels like my own personal space.

Question 3: How long have you lived there?

Sample Answer: I’ve lived in my current home for about five years now. It’s in a quiet area with friendly neighbors and lots of local shops nearby. I really enjoy living here because it’s convenient and peaceful. Before that, I used to live in a smaller apartment, but this place feels more comfortable. I think I’ve gotten quite used to it.

Question 4: Can you describe the place where you live?

Sample Answer: I live in a small but comfortable apartment in the city. It has two bedrooms, a living room, and a small kitchen. The neighborhood is safe and has many shops and cafes nearby. I like it because it’s convenient and everything I need is close.

Question 5: What's your favorite room in your apartment/house?

Sample Answer: My favorite room is my bedroom. It’s my personal space where I can relax, read, and listen to music. I decorated it the way I like, with soft lighting and cozy pillows. It’s the most peaceful part of the house for me.

Question 6: Do you live in a house or a flat?

Sample Answer: Um, I live in a flat, actually. It's not huge, just a small two-bedroom apartment, but it's perfectly adequate for me. It's in a pretty busy part of town, which is great because everything's within walking distance, like the supermarket and the train station. It's a bit noisy sometimes, especially at night, but I've gotten used to it. I really like the big windows though; it gets a lot of natural light, which is important to me.

Question 7: Who do you live with?

Sample Answer: Um, I live with my parents and my younger sister. We've lived in the same house for, gosh, almost my whole life, so it's pretty cozy, even if it can get a bit crowded sometimes! My sister's in her last year of high school, so things are a little hectic with her studying and applying to universities, but it's nice having family around.

Question 8: What do you usually do in your flat?

Sample Answer: Oh, well, it depends on the day, really. Most evenings I'll probably be studying, usually with a cup of tea and some music on – I find it helps me concentrate. Weekends are a bit different; I'll often have friends over, we might cook something together, watch a film, or just chat. I also like to keep my flat tidy, so I'll spend some time cleaning and doing laundry. And, of course, I relax a bit – I enjoy reading or sometimes just zoning out watching something on Netflix. I don't have a huge amount of space, so it's pretty much all about those things, really.

Question 9: What kind of housing do you live in?

Sample Answer: I live in a small house with my family. It has two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. It’s not very big, but it’s comfortable and has everything we need. I like it because it feels cozy and familiar. Also, the neighborhood is quiet and friendly.

Question 10: Do you live alone or with your family?

Sample Answer: I live with my family at the moment. It’s more convenient and helps save money. I enjoy spending time with them, especially during meals or weekends. Living with family also gives me a sense of comfort and support.

Question 11: Could you please describe the place you live in?

Sample Answer: Well, I live in a pretty standard apartment building, it's nothing fancy. It's a three-bedroom apartment, actually a bit smaller than I'd ideally like, but it's okay for now. It's in a quite busy area, lots of shops and restaurants nearby which is really convenient, though it can get a bit noisy at times, especially on weekends. The apartment itself is quite modern, with a decent-sized kitchen and a small balcony overlooking the street – perfect for having a coffee in the morning, though I don't get to do it as often as I'd like! It's not particularly close to nature, which is something I'd like to change eventually, but it's pretty well-connected to public transport, so getting around is easy. Overall, it’s functional and serves its purpose, but it's definitely not my dream home.

Question 12: Is there anything which needs to be improved in your apartment?

Sample Answer: Yes, I think the kitchen could be improved. It’s a bit small and doesn’t have much storage space. Also, the lighting in the living room is a bit dim. If I could, I’d like to renovate a few things to make it more comfortable.

Question 13: What can you see when you look out the window of your room?

Sample Answer: Well, it depends on the time of day, really. If it's morning, the sun usually catches the rooftops of the houses opposite, which are mostly red brick, a bit worn, you know? I can see a few chimney pots and sometimes pigeons perched on them. There's a small park across the street, and in the morning I often see people walking their dogs or kids heading to school. In the afternoon, the light's different, and the shadows are longer. I can see more detail in the park, the trees, maybe someone having a picnic. At night, it's much darker, of course, but I can still see the faint streetlights reflecting in the wet pavement if it's rained, and sometimes the headlights of cars going past. It's quite a busy road, actually.
