Part 1 - Introduction and Interview

Question 1: What's the weather like where you live?

Sample Answer: Oh, it's pretty changeable, actually. We get all four seasons, but they're not very predictable. Right now, it's autumn, so it's quite mild during the day, maybe around 15 degrees Celsius, with sunny spells and crisp air. But the evenings are getting noticeably colder, and we've had a few frosty mornings already. We often get quite a bit of rain in autumn and winter, sometimes quite heavy downpours, and it can be quite windy too. In summer, it’s usually warm and sunny, though we do get the occasional heatwave, which is a bit much! And spring is… well, it’s spring. A bit unpredictable, some sunshine, some showers, and definitely a lot of wind!

Question 2: Do you prefer cold or hot weather?

Sample Answer: Oh, definitely hot weather! I know a lot of people love snuggling up in winter, but I just find cold weather so depressing. I get really sluggish and don't have the energy to do anything fun. Plus, I hate having to layer up in so many clothes – it feels really restrictive. Hot weather, on the other hand, makes me feel so much more alive and energetic. I love being able to go swimming, spend time outdoors, and just generally feel more relaxed. Of course, it can get too hot sometimes, but I'd much rather deal with that than shivering all day!

Question 3: Do you prefer dry or wet weather?

Sample Answer: I prefer dry weather because it’s more comfortable. When it rains, it's harder to go out and everything gets wet and messy. I also enjoy going for walks or outdoor activities, which are easier in dry conditions. However, a bit of rain now and then is nice too.

Question 4: Are you in the habit of checking the weather forecast? When/How often?

Sample Answer: Yeah, pretty much. I check it almost every day, actually. Mostly I just glance at my phone in the morning – I have a weather app that sends me a notification with the forecast for the day. Sometimes, if I have plans for the weekend or something, I'll look at a more detailed forecast, maybe a few days out. It's just become a habit, you know? Helps me plan my outfit, decide whether to take an umbrella, that kind of thing.

Question 5: Would you like to visit other cities that have different climates from where you live?

Sample Answer: Oh, absolutely! Where I live, it's pretty much the same four seasons, but all fairly mild. I'd love to experience something completely different, like a really snowy winter, maybe somewhere in Scandinavia, or the intense heat of a desert climate – I’ve always been fascinated by the Sahara. Or even somewhere with a tropical rainforest climate, the humidity and lush greenery would be amazing to see. I think experiencing such diverse climates would be really broadening, and it would probably inspire me creatively too – I’m a bit of a photographer, so the different landscapes would be amazing to capture.
