Part 1 - Introduction and Interview

Question 1: Do you know many small businesses where you live?

Sample Answer: Yes, there are quite a few small businesses in my neighborhood. I often see local cafés, small grocery stores, and tailor shops. Some of them are run by families and have been there for years. I like supporting them because they give a more personal service than big chains.

Question 2: Do you prefer buying things from big companies or small businesses?

Sample Answer: It depends, but I usually prefer small businesses. I like the personal touch and unique products they offer. However, big companies are more convenient sometimes, especially when I need something fast or at a lower price.

Question 3: Have you ever worked in small businesses?

Sample Answer: Yes, I have. A few years ago, I worked for a small family-owned café. It was a great experience because I got to do a bit of everything — taking orders, helping in the kitchen, and even managing social media. In small businesses, you get more hands-on experience and learn a lot about how things work behind the scenes.

Question 4: Have you ever thought about starting your own business?

Sample Answer: Yes, I’ve thought about it a few times. I think it would be exciting to run something creative, like a small café or an online shop. But it also seems challenging, especially in the beginning. I might try it in the future when I feel more ready.

Question 5: Are there many small businesses in the place where you live?

Sample Answer: Oh, definitely. Where I live, it's a real mix. There are tons of small, independent shops – you know, the kind that have been there for ages, like the little bakery down the street that's been run by the same family for generations. And then there's a whole bunch of newer, smaller businesses popping up all the time, especially cafes and little boutiques. It’s not like a big city with huge chains on every corner; it's more charming and personal, I think. There are also a lot of small businesses online, too, which are harder to spot, but they’re definitely there. So yeah, it's a pretty vibrant small business scene.
