Question 1: Do you think you spend too much time on social media?
Sample Answer: Hmm, that's a good question. I definitely think I could probably cut back a bit. I mean, I use it for keeping up with friends and family, which is important, and sometimes for research or finding information for uni assignments – that’s useful. But yeah, I probably scroll through Instagram and TikTok way more than I should. It’s easy to lose track of time, you know? It's a bit of a guilty pleasure, I guess. I've tried setting time limits on my phone, but I always end up overriding them. Maybe I need to be stricter with myself, or find some better ways to manage my time.
Question 2: Do your friends use social media?
Sample Answer: Yes, most of my friends use social media every day. They use it to stay connected, share photos, and follow trends. Platforms like Facebook and TikTok are especially popular. It’s also a way for us to stay in touch even if we live far apart.
Question 3: What do people often do on social media?
Sample Answer: Oh, wow, that's a broad question! People do so many things on social media, it's hard to know where to start. I guess the most common things are probably sharing photos and videos – you know, updates about their lives, holidays, what they're eating! Then there's chatting with friends and family, keeping up with what they're doing. A lot of people use it for news, too, although I try to get my news from more reliable sources. And of course, there's shopping online, following influencers and brands, and even finding out about local events. It really depends on the person and which platforms they use, but those are some of the big ones I see all the time.
Question 4: When did you start using social media?
Sample Answer: Oh, gosh, it feels like ages ago! I think I first got on Facebook around… 2009 or 2010? I was probably in my last year of secondary school, maybe even just starting sixth form. Everyone was on it, and you felt a bit left out if you weren't. It was a really different landscape back then compared to now, much more about connecting with people you actually knew, rather than the huge, algorithm-driven feeds we have today. I remember it being a bit of a novelty – mostly just sharing photos and updating my status. I didn't really get into Instagram and Twitter until much later, probably university.
Question 5: Do you like to use social media?
Sample Answer: Yes, I do, but I try not to use it too much. It’s a fun way to stay connected with friends and see what’s happening. I enjoy watching short videos or reading interesting posts. But I also know it can be distracting, so I use it in moderation.
Question 6: Do you think your friends use too much social media?
Sample Answer: Hmm, that's a really interesting question. I think it's a bit of a mixed bag, honestly. Some of my friends, yeah, definitely seem glued to their phones. I mean, they're constantly scrolling through Instagram or TikTok, even when we're hanging out, which can be a little frustrating sometimes. It feels like they're more engaged with their online lives than with what's actually happening around them. But others are much more balanced. They use social media to keep in touch, share photos, and stuff like that, but it doesn't seem to dominate their lives at all. So I wouldn't say *all* my friends overuse it, but certainly some do. It really depends on the person, I guess.
Question 7: Do you want to work in social media? Why?
Sample Answer: Hmm, that's a tough one. I mean, on the one hand, it seems really exciting – all the creativity involved in content creation and the fast-paced nature of the industry appeals to me. I'm pretty active on social media myself, so I feel like I have a good understanding of what works and what doesn't. Plus, the potential for reaching a massive audience is pretty cool. However, I also know it can be incredibly demanding, with long hours and a lot of pressure to constantly be "on." I'm not sure I'm cut out for that kind of intense, always-on pressure. So, right now, I'm leaning more towards no, but maybe in the future, after I've gained some more experience in a different field, I might reconsider.
Question 8: What’s the most popular social media in Vietnam? Why?
Sample Answer: Facebook is probably the most popular platform in Vietnam. People use it for messaging, posting updates, and following news. It’s convenient and has many features, so people of all ages use it. Zalo is also very common, especially for chatting with family or coworkers. Social media plays a big role in daily life here.
